  At 10 am today, 2 male missionaries stopped and knocked lightly at my door. The East Mulberry location is the closest KH, of 3 listed in Las Cruces. I was listening to something online and was not expecting anyone, so intended to ignore anyone ignoring the "NO SOLICITATION" notice placed at the secluded recessed entry. Then I heard the sound of the metal thumb release being pressed, and the gentle shift of an attempt to push the door open. Of course I went to address the potential intruder through the window--it was too early for a postman to be stopping by for signatures, but still a potential.
  
  The pair had not stepped back away from the door at least a 3 feet, like missionaries are guided to do. I did not yet know they were JW missionaries. Making out a woven straw hat and a emerald green long sleeve shirt and dark pants, I thought this was someone wanting to offer yardwork services--so I asked who they were. The man lifts his right hand from his hip to bring my attention to the bible he is carrying. That's when I can actually see the head of the 2nd man over his shoulder. He was standing that close to the apparent lead guy. Very odd. I have explained to multiple JW teams why I do not want to be contacted at my home this way, and that I do respect that their denomination has offered purpose to some family & acquaintances I know, others have been limited in their agency for safety because of teachings from being raised JW. I wanted to call the local KH office, but it is not active according to my cell phone providers redirect msg.
  
  I know missionaries from any denomination can ignore signs of no solicitations, because lobbies exist to protect them, but there is no reason for the do-not-visit request list that is kept and shared by teams to be ignored. And there is absolutely no reason to not ring a bell, knock softly, and then test to see if the door is locked: UNLESS YOU ARE CASING A PLACE TO DO SOMETHING THAT WOULD GET THE POLICE CALLED ON YOU. I don't have energy for that today.
